Voicemail Adjustment

Dear Coach:

In the "Root Canal" book, you say the voicemail script should conclude with a call to action, and then I should say what I'll do next. For example, if I plan to try again, I should say that. Is it okay if I only say the call to action, and leave out my next steps unless it's my last call?

Coach says:

Of course it's okay! Sounds like a great approach, too. Make sure your call to action is simple and strong. Instead of, "If you're interested, please call me back," simply say "Please call me back."

While I'm writing, here's some advice about training and reading books like mine: There is no "right" way, so it's absolutely okay to make changes. Adapt what you learn to your own personal/professional style; give it a lengthy test-drive; keep what works and jettison the rest!

That applies to what you read in my book, too. Even though I am obviously an absolute genius on the subject of cold calling, I am also extremely humble and even occasionally make errors.
